Jean graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 1999, after which he spent some time in private practice in the Netherlands and United Kingdom. He joined HBDS in August 2005. During the past years he has established himself as a respected cosmetic dentist using modern dentistry to positively impact on his patient’s appearance and confidence. He has also published articles in respected publications, helping to dispel some of the myths in dentistry.
Jean has a keen interest in new developments in composite restorations and direct bonding techniques. He is particularly interested in using modern techniques for effective and predictable Root Canal Treatments. Jean truly believes that with minimal intervention and conservative treatment you can make a significant difference in a person's appearance and see a transformation in your confidence.
Jean is a founding member of the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and still serves on the executive board. He is also a member of the ITI (International Team for Implantology) and IAPD (International Association of Paediatric Dentistry). Jean is a keen trail runner and mountain biker with a particular love for multi day events. He is often found spending days on the beautiful mountain paths.
