Emil graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2002. He obtained a Post Graduate Dental Diploma in Dental Implantology from the University of Western Cape in 2004.
After completing the International Qualifying Exam in the UK in 2005, he registered full-time at the University of Pretoria in 2006 and obtained his dental specialist degree in Oral Medicine, Periodontics and Dental Implantology in 2009.
Emil was excited to relocate back to Cape Town and established his Periodontal practice in Newlands, as well as visiting specialist to HBDS, in 2010. He contributes to further dental education being a Fellow of the International Team for Dental Implantology (ITI), a member of the South African Academy of Esthetics and various other dental specialist societies.
He regularly lectures in the field of Periodontology and Dental implantology.
Emil is passionate about obtaining predictable dental implantology treatment results and maintaining periodontal health. Both fields play an integral role in systemic health. He, therefore, keeps up to date with the newest international techniques and theories.
He spends as much free time as possible with his family, at the ocean or in the mountains.
