Dr Ivonne Meyer
Dentist
Originally from Namibia, Ivonne graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2001. She spent three years in private practice in the Netherlands. Ivonne is fluent in English, Afrikaans, German and Dutch.
She completed a two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry (PDD-Aesthetic Dentistry) at the University of the Western Cape in 2006. She passed her international qualifying exam for registration in the United Kingdom in 2008. From 2009 to 2010, she completed a part-time MBA at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business.
Ivonne is passionate about aesthetics and modern adhesive techniques in dentistry. She is one of the founding members of the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.
She is particularly interested in preventative and restorative dentistry related to erosion and abrasion and has lectured on these topics numerous times.
Ivonne joined her colleagues from HBDS to initiate Uhuru Smile, a fundraising drive aimed at creating awareness and raising funds for the Smile Foundation. A five-member team summited Kilimanjaro’s Uhuru Peak, raising R150 000.00 to operate on children born with cleft lip and palate deformities.
Ivonne loves travelling and nature, a good glass of wine and relaxing on her surfboard. She has competed in two half-Ironman events and recently ran her first full marathon.
