Founder & Clinical Director

Andy founded Hout Bay Dental Studio in 1983 after graduating with top honours from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1981. Under his leadership, HBDS has grown into a multidisciplinary practice offering advanced implantology and aesthetic care.

Dentist

An aesthetic specialist fluent in English, Afrikaans, German and Dutch, Ivonne trained at Stellenbosch University and in the Netherlands. With a postgraduate diploma in aesthetic dentistry, she is passionate about adhesive techniques and preventative restorations.

Dentist

Nic joined the practice in 2003 and brings decades of experience, along with a calm and gentle approach. With a focus on holistic, minimally invasive care, he works equally well with children, restoring smiles and performing minor surgery with patience and precision.

Dentist & Implantologist

David qualified at the University of the Western Cape in 2016 and holds a postgraduate diploma in implantology. He combines evidence-based holistic care with digital techniques – including CAD-CAM restorations – to achieve precise, long-lasting results.

Periodontist & Implantologist

A 2002 Stellenbosch graduate with advanced training in implantology and periodontal care, Emil brings surgical expertise and specialist care, ensuring comprehensive treatment within the practice.

Endodontist

Grethé graduated from the University of the Western Cape in 2011 and went on to complete Diplomas in Implantology and Endodontics. Since relocating from Gauteng to the Western Cape in 2021, she has been practicing general dentistry in Citrusdal while focusing on specialised endodontic care at HBDS.

Oral Hygienist

Emma graduated top of her class with a degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of the Western Cape in 2009. She provides preventative care with a gentle touch – helping patients maintain their healthy smiles in the long term.
